On Tuesday 19th March, Holyport Cricket Club will take part in an MCC Walking Cricket festival at Lords Cricket Ground.
A coach will take the 30 players and supporters to Lord’s early on Tuesday morning where they will play games against other Walking Cricket clubs. The format of the day will see each team play a selection of 40 ball matches in a round robin tournament.
The day will be a reward for the group after an amazing first year together. Having started in May 2023, they meet regularly each week with 20+ players involved. Making lifelong friends and reducing loneliness has been a huge part of what makes the group successful and many of them now take part in numerous social events such as dinners, quizzes and trips to the pub.
There is a real togetherness within the group and this should see them put in a fantastic showing at the festival in two weeks time.
