Berkshire Women begin their 50 over campaign at Sulhamstead CC on Sunday April 21st against Buckinghamshire.
Mia Rogers will captain the side as Ash Muttitt is unavailable this weekend. This new 50 over competition sees the team play 4 games against Bucks, Northants, Herts and Hunts.
Mary Briscoe comes into the side and will make her senior debut on Sunday. With Ariana Dowse involved with the Sunrisers and Ava Lee with the Southern Vipers there is an opportunity for other players to gain some valuable first team experience.
Head coach Paul Bew commented ‘ we have been fortunate to have played some warmup games already this season and almost everyone in the squad has had an opportunity to play. With some players still returning from injuries and managing workloads I am excited to see Mary make her debut she has worked incredibly hard this winter building on her success in age group games last summer. The pathway continues to develop exciting players and provide competition for places in the senior side which is what I want to see this summer. With a busy summer ahead, I am excited by the squad we have and am looking forward to some great cricket.’
