Berkshire Women travel to Northants on bank holiday Monday in their second game of the ECB 50 over championship. Captain Ash Muttitt returns to the squad and is in a positive mood ” we had an excellent start to the campaign last week against Bucks, but we will remain grounded and just focus on executing our skills well.”
There are three changes to the squad that travel to Northants with wicketkeeper Mia Rogers unavailable Poppy Camplin comes into the side and will make her senior debut. Head Coach Paul Bew commented ‘Poppy deserves this debut having worked really hard this winter and performed well in county age group cricket. This is testament to all the hard work that our coaches do to prepare players for the next level, Poppy started on the pathway as an u11, and I know there are many people that will share our delight in her debut.
After a debut with England u19s Ava Lee returns to the side and is looking forward to joining up with her teammates. Ava had a really successful tour playing games against Australia and Sril Lanka speaking at training this week she talked about her experiences ‘ the tour was fantastic, and I have learnt so much about playing in different conditions and on challenging wickets. Its great to be back and I am really looking forward to our game on Monday’
The side will then begin their T20 campaign on May 26th at Falkland Cricket club where Sussex and Buckinghamshire are the visitors.
