Professional T20 Blast Cricket will be heading to Berkshire for the first time in 2025 as the newly formed Hampshire Hawks Women’s Side take on Lancashire Thunder at Falkland CC on Wednesday the 9th of July.
Full details will be released in due course as professional womens cricket heads to West Berkshire for the third year running following The Southern Vipers victories over the South East Stars in 2022 and 2023
Hampshire Cricket are one of eight counties hosting elite Tier One teams in a move away from the existing regional structure, with other counties, including Berkshire, participating in a further two tiers of competition. The move comes as part of a radical restructure aimed at delivering significant growth across the women’s game, with ambitious targets set to increase attendances and raise the profile of domestic tournaments.
Hampshire will be coached by England legend Charlotte Edwards who said of the appointment “I’m looking forward to progressing the development of an exciting group of players as we look to continue the successful legacy of women’s cricket within Hampshire”
They will be captained by Georgia Adams who previously captained the Vipers and is their leading run-scorer, leading wicket-taker, and most capped player.
On being awarded the captaincy Adams commented “It’s an honour to be named captain of Hampshire as we all embark on a new era for women’s cricket within the county,”
It promises to be another exciting afternoon of white ball action at Falkland CC’s Enborne Lodge Ground with another bumper Berkshire crowd expected.
