Berkshire Women’s Softball Cricket Workshop
On the 16th of March, the Women’s Softball Workshop hosted by Berkshire Cricket proved to be a fantastic success, bringing together a wonderful mix of club players, coaches, managers, and volunteers from across the County. The day kicked off with the Women’s Softball Indoor Finals, where Warfield CC went head-to-head with Slough CC in an exciting match. Both teams put on incredible performances, but it was Slough CC who triumphed, showcasing their skill and determination. The atmosphere was buzzing, and the event set a positive tone for the day ahead.
After the finals, the workshop began with an icebreaker activity that got everyone talking and ready to dive into the learning sessions. Participants were split into four groups, each focusing on a specific area of the game: scoring, umpiring, match play, and coaching. It was an engaging and hands-on experience for all involved, with plenty of real-life learning taking place throughout the day. The energy was high, and it was heartening to see so many people eager to expand their knowledge and improve their skills in different aspects of the game.
The workshop concluded in a group game of Diamond Cricket — a fan-favourite! There’s nothing quite like the fun and camaraderie of a Diamond Cricket match, and it was the perfect way to bring the day to a close.
