With the Women’s 50 Over competition starting on Sunday 20th April, the Women have a small window to fit pre-season into with time for just one warm up match. Fortunately, the weather has played ball so far and we look forward to getting outside on grass ahead of our 1st game. We have what will be a hugely exciting fixture against a Southern Vipers side. Women’s Talent Pathway Lead, Tom Jackson said “This will be an excellent opportunity to test ourselves against what will be a strong opposition. With the restructuring of the Women’s game, that has taken place over the off-season, we have seen some of our players go on to sign with Tier 1 & Tier 2 sides, creating opportunities for several new faces to come into our squad. We also have the opportunity to get outside ahead of schedule this weekend with a training session at Sulhamstead & Ufton CC. I look forward to getting outside for the first time with the group ahead of what is shaping up to be an exciting season.”
Head of Performance Neal Robinson observed when looking forward to the early stages of the season “The Men’s 1st Team are looking forward to getting outside on the grass and in the sunshine and we all hope the great weather sticks around as we prepare for a range of friendly games and practices in the coming weeks. It’s been great to have Bjorn involved with a new fresh pair of eyes and ideas and both he and I are excited about the prospects across all formats in 2025 with a number of young fresh faces and experienced heads gearing up to hit the ground running”
