On Tuesday 8th April last week, Schools Manager Ally Darlow and Women and Girls Officer Michelle Jeyarajah ran our West Berkshire Young Leaders course out of St Bartholomew’s Secondary School in Newbury.
The four-hour intensive course saw a group of secondary school children, aged between 12 and 16, try their hand at running coaching sessions to each other as well as taking part in an umpiring and scoring workshop.
Fun was had by all, and it was lovely to see all the participants working together to support each other and coach successful drills to their peers, many of them for the first time.
The St Barts cohort has brought our total number of trained Young Leaders in 2025 to over 100, and we’re always looking for new venues and locations to run more Young Leaders Training.
