Berkshire men are back in action this weekend as they take on a talented Wales team at Wargrave CC in two T20 matches. The first match starts at 11:00 am.
After the mens impressive victory in the 50 over quarter final against Cheshire at the beginning of the month, they will be looking to continue their fine form. Josh Lincoln is unavailable this weekend and into the squad comes highly talented youngster Andrew MacEwen. Andrew showed his class during the week for the 2 XI team when he scored a brilliant 92. Head coach,
Bjorn Mordt, was down in Swindon to watch the games against Wiltshire and had this to say ” MacEwen’s knock was pretty special and he has been knocking on the door for some time, he deserves his chance to show how talented he is and I am looking forward to see him carry that form into Sunday against Wales. Samm Daniel also impressed with the ball today so he also comes into the squad for Sunday. We hope to get a decent crowd into watch us at Wargrave and there is no doubt they will be entertained”
Wales will be a tough opposition and one of our players from last year, Rhodri Lewis, will be their captain. He is the older brother of our star opener Rhys Lewis. I am sure they will both be looking forward to locking horns out on the cricket pitch. So make sure you all get down to watch two great games of cricket.
