U13 County Cup Final
Marlow CC 144 /6 (20) Slough CC 113 All out (18.3 overs)
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Marlow lost an early wicket but a fantastic partnership of 74 between Matty Phillips and Freddie Rowley provided a solid platform. Barney’s Webb impressive late cameo of 16 from 8 balls also helped to accelerate the innings. Musa Saba impressed with the ball for Slough with figures of 4 overs, 1-18.
Chasing 145, Slough lost both openers to run outs, although the response was positive from Ayhan Hussain scoring 24 from just 18 balls before he also fell victim to the same dismissal. Shanay Mehta coming in at 9 top scored with an excellent innings of 34 coming off 29 balls, Vivaan Buchade finished on a well made 15 not out. From a Marlow perspective, Matty Phillips followed on from his contribution with the bat to star with bowling figures of 3-14 off 4 overs. Equally his batting partner Rowley returned with figures of 2-21 off his 4 overs.
A massive thank you to Purley on Thames CC who were excellent hosts. It was great to see the level of activity taking place at the club on the evening aside from the final.
