Everyone should be able to say that “cricket is a game for me” and our clubs, leagues and grounds must be welcoming and free from any discrimination or judgement that would make someone’s experience a negative one.
Whatever role you play in the game, or the format of cricket you play, each of us can help to create positive environments for the game to flourish in.
If you experience or witness discrimination Berkshire Cricket and the Cricket Regulator strongly encourage you to report this.
You can do this using the following link and you can remain anonymous if you wish:
Anti-Discrimination Reporting Form
Alternatively, if you would like to discuss a concern or if you have a serious concern please contact the Berkshire Cricket lead on managing discrimination cases, Brian Cooper, at [email protected] or 07789 250905.
If you would like to find out more about tackling discrimination in the recreational game you can complete the following online learning package produced by the ECB:
Anti-Discrimination in the Recreational Game
The package takes 30 minutes to complete and covers the Equality Act in cricket, the protected characteristics, different types of discrimination and how you can champion anti-discrimination in cricket. The package uses cricketing examples throughout.
