Berkshire Cricket are delighted to confirm that our Men’s 1st XI will be hosting Sussex CCC on Tuesday July 23rd at Slough CC in the annual Showcase Game. It will be a 50 over aside contest and will be a great opportunity to showcase not only an excellent game of cricket between two talented teams but also to showcase all the amazing cricket activities that take place in and around Berkshire but more specifically in Slough. As an ECB Core City Berkshire Cricket have worked across Slough in recent years to offer more cricket opportunities to more people in more places and the game at Slough CC offers us the opportunity to bring together not only our schools and street programmes in the area but also link closely with Slough CC itself who are kindly hosting the game for the first time in 2024.
Mark Roche, CEO of Berkshire Cricket, said ‘Following two matches against Middlesex it’s great to be able to welcome Sussex to Berkshire for this years Showcase Game at Slough CC in late July. Taking this years Showcase Match to Slough CC, is a great opportunity for us to promote the great progress that the club have made in recent seasons, supported by us and other partners, including the formation of a Disability Hub and the very successful development of their Women and Girls teams – including the Girls Under 15s win at Lords in July. We’re really looking forward to working with the club to deliver a fantastic spectacle on and off the pitch, and our thanks must go to to the club for their desire to make this a huge success’
