Berkshire Cricket Launches County-Wide Countdown to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
Berkshire, England – Berkshire Cricket is proud to announce an exciting programme of events marking the countdown to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be hosted in England. Running from March to June 2026, the county-wide initiative will engage schools, clubs, and communities, inspiring the next generation of players and celebrating the growth of the women’s game.
The countdown programme features a series of landmark events at 100, 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 day milestones before the tournament begins, with activities taking place across Berkshire.
Inspiring the Next Generation
The programme launches on 4 March 2026 (100 Days to Go) with a Secondary School Cricket Takeover at Herschel Grammar School. Berkshire Cricket coaches will visit 12 secondary schools across the county, delivering cricket taster sessions, small-sided games, and interactive assemblies focused on the Women’s World Cup and local playing opportunities. Each school will be allocated a Women’s World Cup nation, encouraging pupils to dress in team colours and immerse themselves in the global tournament.
“This is a fantastic chance to inspire young people—especially girls—to give cricket a try and feel connected to a world-class sporting event happening on their doorstep,” said Michelle Jeyarajah, Women and Girls Development Officer at Berkshire Cricket.
