SCORING PATHWAY GUIDANCE

The ECB Scoring Pathway (2026) provides a structured framework for the education, development, and progression of cricket scorers across England and Wales. It outlines five graded levels, from entry-level team scorers (S5) through to professional game scorers (S1), with each stage defining the match environments, competencies, and responsibilities required. Advancement through the pathway is supported by formal training courses, practical match experience, Laws of Cricket assessments, and progression reviews. The pathway also incorporates specialist education in areas such as scoring techniques, Duckworth-Lewis-Stern calculations, linear scoring, statistics, and professional scoring software, ensuring scorers are equipped to operate confidently from recreational cricket through to the professional game.
