Girls U19 & U13 T20 Blast Finals – Match Day Recap
After being rescheduled due to rain the previous week, the much-anticipated Girls U19 and U13 T20 Blast Finals were successfully held on Sunday, 21st September at Slough Cricket Club. The day saw two exciting finals, with both Slough and Falkland Girls featuring in each age group.

U19 Final – Slough vs Falkland
Falkland Girls won the toss and elected to bat first. Slough got off to a great start, taking a wicket on the very first ball. However, Falkland recovered quickly thanks to a good innings from A. Hewetson, who scored a solid 36 off 30 balls. Steady contributions from the rest of the lineup helped Falkland reach a respectable 133/5 in 20 overs.
Slough’s bowling was consistent, with H. Arslan taking 2 wickets for 20 runs in her 4 overs, and Z. Pandit bowling an impactful spell with 2 wickets for just 11 runs in 2 overs.
In reply, Slough’s top order got the chase off to a steady start. It was a true team effort with multiple players contributing valuable runs under pressure. Falkland’s bowlers didn’t make it easy, with D. Evain claiming 2 wickets for 26 runs, and I. Storrar, L. Colby, and F. Hay each chipping in with a wicket. In an intense finish, it was A. Bhanot who hit the winning boundary, sealing the victory for Slough. Slough won by 2 wickets.

U13 Final – Slough vs Falkland
In the U13 final, Falkland once again won the toss and this time opted to field first. Slough’s batters took the opportunity and got plenty runs with a shared team effort, posting 174 runs in 20 overs.
For Falkland, Maggie Bonner and Eleanor Thompson each took 2 wickets, while Millie Pennock and Hope Langlands added one wicket each to slow down the scoring during key phases.
Falkland’s innings got off to a rocky start with early wickets falling quickly. However, Izzy Gibson showed great composure and determination, scoring a 47 runs from 42 balls, attempting to anchor the team.
Slough’s bowlers remained sharp and focused throughout the innings. Ruhi Kashyap and Tashvi Gurrum led the attack with 2 wickets each, while Hasitha Gunda, Aanaya Oberai, and Aanaya Bhanot each took 1 wicket to keep the pressure on.
Slough won the U13 Final by 89 runs, finishing off a fantastic day with a double win.
Both finals were a fantastic showcase of talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Congratulations to Slough Girls for their victories in both age groups and well done to Falkland Girls for putting on two strong performances. It’s clear that the future of girls’ cricket is bright with such skilled and passionate players on display.
