Due to the popularity of the programme last year and wanting to have an identification process that is as effective as possible, we have decided to make a slight alteration to the process usually in place at U13, in order to give players the best opportunity to continue develop their skills.
We are planning to run an 8–10 week Autumn Development Course, building on the development programme that is currently in place at U10 through to U12. The programme will be specifically tailored to U13 cricketers, with sessions designed around their individual development needs.
The course will provide our coaching team with the opportunity to work closely with players across all aspects of their game, helping them to continue developing their skills, strengthen their understanding and build their confidence in a supportive and structured environment.
The Autumn Development Course is completely optional, but we believe it offers a fantastic opportunity for players to continue their development during the autumn period.

For players who choose not to take part in the Autumn Development Course, there will still be a free observation session/trial in December. This will give players the opportunity to showcase their skills to our coaching team and be considered for selection for the January programme.

Does my son need cricket experience for this?
While many of the boys attending will already have experience playing cricket, the programme is designed to support and develop a range of abilities and sporting backgrounds.
If your child is a talented athlete in another sport and cricket is currently their second, third or even fourth sport, we would still encourage you to sign up! The programme is a great opportunity to explore their potential and develop their cricketing skills alongside their other sporting interests.
Naturally, as players progress through the age groups, the Talent Pathway becomes more selective. However, we are committed to supporting every player and helping them develop as much as possible.

Does he need to be nominated by his club?
No, nominations are not required. If you feel your child would benefit from 8-10 weeks of coaching with our pathway and performance team, you are very welcome to register.
What happens after the programme?
One of the outcomes of the programme is to help our coaching team identify boys who may be ready for our invitation only performance programme, which begins after Christmas. Those invited in the New Year will continue to work with our Pathway coaches for another 8-10 weeks indoors, before a summer match play programme.
