Womens Indoor League – Hardball Finals

December 16, 2025

On Sunday 14th December, the Women’s Indoor Hardball League Final took place, marking the end of an exciting new competition launched to encourage more women and girls to play cricket during the winter season.

The league saw six teams take part: Wokingham CC, Binfield CC, Sonning CC, Slough CC, Maidenhead & Bray CC, and Crowthorne & Crownwood CC. With some great performances across the competition, the fast-paced indoor format proved ideal for weekend cricket and provided a fantastic opportunity for all teams involved.

The final was between Sonning CC and Slough CC. Sonning batted first and posted an impressive 73–2 from their 10 overs. Tactical batting from the openers helped them maintain a steady run rate throughout the innings. Slough’s bowlers showed real promise, using good pace, line, and length to try and keep the batters in check.

In reply, Slough began their chase but were quickly put under pressure by Sonning’s disciplined bowling attack, which cleverly mixed seam and spin to take a couple of early wickets. As the pressure mounted, a pair of run outs effected Slough’s efforts. Slough were eventually bowled out for 44, handing Sonning CC a well-deserved victory.

Congratulations to Sonning CC on winning the competition and well done to both teams for reaching the final.

Finally, we’d like to thank all teams involved and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.
