🌟 Staff Spotlight: Euan Woods – Performance Coach
We’re delighted to shine the spotlight on Euan Woods, one of Berkshire Cricket’s Performance Coaches! Since joining the team in November 2021, Euan has been a key figure across the boys’ pathway, helping players of all ages refine their skills and enjoy the game.
About His Role:
Euan spends most of his time in the sports hall, coaching players from U9s through to U18s. His role focuses on developing technical ability, tactical awareness, and a lifelong love for cricket. Working across such a wide range of age groups gives him the chance to help young cricketers at every stage of their journey — from their first county experience to senior-level play.
What He Loves Most:
“I enjoy seeing players improve and having fun in the sessions.”
Away From Work:
Euan currently plays for Wargrave CC and represents the Berkshire 1st XI, balancing his coaching with his own playing commitments. His cricketing hero is Kumar Sangakkara, who he loved watching bat as a kid — a role model for both skill and composure at the crease.
Vision for Cricket:
Euan wants cricket to be more accessible, believing the game should be open to everyone.
“Make it cheaper so it’s more accessible for people to play.”
Fun Fact:
Euan once appeared in a Bollywood film called Jersey!
Favourite Quote:
“THAT IS VERY GOOD.” – Mark Nicholas
Berkshire Cricket is proud to have Euan as part of the team, sharing his experience, passion, and positivity with players across the pathway — and helping the next generation reach their potential both on and off the pitch.
