What He Loves Most
“The ever-changing nature of the role, as the business has grown (and continues to do so), keeps it fresh and exciting.”
His Cricket Journey
After 36 years of playing cricket, Mark has hung up his boots — but definitely not stepped away from the game.
He now scores for his club on Saturdays and is a lifelong Hampshire fan.
Beyond cricket, Mark is passionate about horse racing, attending meetings regularly, and enjoys a round of golf (even if he insists he plays badly!).
Favourite Cricketer
Robin Smith – “A fierce competitor, as brave as a lion, and a very sociable character!”
Favourite Cricket Memory
Mark’s first day working for Berkshire Cricket coincided with the team winning their first trophy in 51 years — an unforgettable start to an incredible journey.
What Would He Change?
Mark values flexibility in sport.
“We need rules, but when rules prevent you from playing, they need to change.”
Favourite Quote
“I tend to live my life by a simple motto – It’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission!”
Berkshire Cricket is proud to have Mark at the helm, guiding the organisation through growth, change, and innovation, while championing cricket for all across the county.
