Regional Table Cricket Finals

March 18, 2026

Lord’s Taverners regional Table Cricket competition took place on Tuesday at Stoke Mandeville Stadium with schools from Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Middlesex all hoping to book their place at Lords Cricket Ground for the national final in May.

Rise@Garth Hill College (GHC) were representing Berkshire for the first time having won the county competition at Loddon Valley back in February.

In the group stages, Rise@GHC won all their games, demonstrating some outstanding skill and teamwork to go unbeaten. This meant they went through to the final to play Alexandra Park from Middlesex for a place in the national final. Batting first, each player did amazingly well, trying their hardest to score as many runs as possible for the team. With a good total on the board, Rise@GHC did their best to limit their opposition with some excellent fielding. Despite their best efforts, unfortunately the team lost out by 3 runs.

Considering this was their first visit to the regionals, the school should be incredibly proud at how well they did. They played each game in true table cricket spirit, encouraging everyone including their opponents and were gracious in both victory and defeat. Our attention now turns to our annual soft ball event in July to see who will be crowned champions in 2026.
