Berkshire Cricket ran a very well attended pre-season grounds course at Bradfield CC on Sunday 29th March, led by County Pitch Advisor Ash Hendrickx-Nutley and supported by Phil Jeggo from The Grounds Management Association.
The workshop covered the vital spring preparation of transitioning the square from its winter state to its spring state so it is ready for the start of pitch preparation and the summer of cricket.
The following pre-season tasks were also discussed:
-
Inspection & control of turf diseases,
-
Mowing,
-
Verti-cutting,
-
Rolling
-
Fertiliser applications,
-
Outfield maintenance
A reminder we have further grounds courses being run later in the summer: Berkshire Cricket Grounds Courses
