This Week in Berkshire Disability Cricket

April 29, 2026

It’s been a busy week for disability cricket in Berkshire. Sunday saw the first outdoor session of our Lords Taverners Super 1’s hub back at Holyport Cricket Club for the summer. With our showcase festival just a month away, players will be working hard each week to improve their batting and bowling skills, ready to showcase it on our biggest day of the year for inclusive cricket.

Also on Sunday, our Disability Officer Chris went along to Bradfield CC to watch the Berkshire Stags VI team in action. Despite missing a few of their key players due to international training call ups, they still did incredibly well to set Surrey VI a target of 174 runs to win. Some early wickets gave them hope however a fantastic partnership by the two experienced Surrey batters sadly took the game away from the Stags. The team have more fixtures at home over the summer and are always looking for people to come along and support them. Information is regularly posted on their Facebook page so head over and learn more about VI Cricket and the wonderful offer of the Stags.

Finally, Tuesday saw our new hardball Pan-Disability team training outside for the first time at Holyport CC. With fixtures against other counties scheduled for the summer the team got to work in the nets, fine tuning their batting and bowling. The team will meet for the next couple of weeks as they continue to prepare for their first game. Berkshire Cricket is looking for new players to join the squad and encourages anybody looking for a new challenge to get involved. The pan-disability team will play an important role in our disability pathway and will provide fantastic opportunities for players to experience disability cricket at a higher level.
