ECB Umpiring Course Comes to Purley on Thames Cricket Club
Aspiring cricket umpires across Berkshire are invited to take the first step into officiating this summer as an ECB Umpiring Course comes to Purley on Thames Cricket Club.
Delivered over two evening sessions, the course provides an excellent introduction to cricket umpiring and is ideal for players, parents, volunteers, coaches and anyone interested in becoming involved in the game from a different perspective.
The course will take place on:
- Tuesday 30 June 2026
- Tuesday 7 July 2026
- 6:30pm – 9:30pm both evenings

The ECB Umpiring Course is designed to help learners develop confidence and knowledge of the Laws of Cricket, while also exploring key aspects of match management, communication and on-field decision-making.
No previous umpiring experience is required.
The course fee is £70 and includes both sessions.
