Fresh from being crowned Vitality T20 Blast Women’s League 3 champions, Berkshire Women now turn their attention back to 50-over cricket as they continue the defence of their 50 over title. Victory in the T20 final secured the League 3 crown, meaning Berkshire are now the proud holders of both the T20 and 50-over Tier 3 titles. With silverware already secured this season, the focus now shifts to continuing our momentum in the Metro Bank Women’s One Day competition.
This Sunday, Berkshire travel to Potterne CC to take on Wiltshire in what promises to be another important fixture. After two matches, Berkshire sit in mid-table with one win and one defeat. Our only loss came against current table-toppers Devon, before bouncing back in impressive fashion with a bonus-point victory over Shropshire last time out. Wiltshire currently occupy seventh place, having lost both of their opening 50 over fixtures, and will be looking to claim their first victory of the season.
The sides met in the Vitality T20 Blast earlier this summer, with Wiltshire coming out on top in both fixtures. Berkshire will be eager to respond this weekend as they look to build momentum in the defence of their 50-over title. Play gets underway on Sunday at Potterne Cricket Club, with Berkshire aiming to make it back-to-back victories in the One-Day competition.
