Berkshire Schools Dynamos Finals
This week saw the Berkshire Schools Dynamos competitions bring together schools from across the county for two fantastic days of cricket. Hosted at Wokingham Cricket Club, the competitions are part of the ECB’s Dynamos Cricket programme, designed to provide children with fun, inclusive and engaging opportunities to develop their cricket skills, represent their school, and enjoy competitive cricket in a positive environment. The events showcased the enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship of hundreds of young players, highlighting the continued growth of schools cricket across Berkshire.
Girls Competition – Tuesday
Tuesday’s girls’ competition featured seven teams, with every school enjoying an exciting day of competitive cricket.
After a series of closely contested matches, Montem were crowned champions after defeating Godolphin in the final. The standard of cricket throughout the competition was exceptionally high, with every game played in an excellent spirit, reflecting the values of the Dynamos programme.
Mixed Competition – Thursday
The mixed competition took place on Thursday, attracting 12 teams from across Berkshire for another outstanding day of Dynamos cricket.
Following an exciting schedule of matches, Castleview claimed the title by overcoming Willowbank in the final. As with Tuesday’s event, the quality of cricket on display was outstanding, with players from all schools competing with great enthusiasm, teamwork, and respect for one another.
Both competitions were organised and delivered by the Berkshire Cricket Participation Team, whose efforts ensured the events ran smoothly from start to finish, supported by a team of umpires who helped maintain the excellent spirit in which the games were played.
