ECB Tackling Climate Change Fund Open to Cricket Clubs
The ECB Tackling Climate Change Fund is available to ECB-affiliated cricket clubs across England and Wales, providing financial support to help clubs reduce the impact of climate change and improve the resilience and sustainability of their facilities.
The fund aims to support clubs in tackling some of the challenges increasingly faced by cricket clubs, including flooding, drought, extreme heat, rising energy costs and water management.
Eligible projects cover a wide range of areas, giving clubs the opportunity to invest in practical improvements that can protect their grounds and facilities while helping to reduce long-term running costs.
What Projects Are Eligible?
Clubs can apply for funding towards projects in the following areas:
Flood Resilience
- Building protection
- Targeted drainage
- Ditch or culvert clearance
Drought Resilience
- Rainwater harvesting
- Bore holes
- Square irrigation
Heat Resilience
- Awnings
- Ventilation
- Planting
Energy Saving
- Insulation
- LED lighting
- Solar PV
- Solar thermal
- Energy-efficient heating systems
- Double or triple glazing
- EV chargers
- Energy-efficient kitchen appliances
Water Management
- Water-saving sanitaryware
- Greywater recycling
- Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
- Stormwater attenuation
Clubs can also apply for support towards an electric mower or roller, with funding available for a maximum of 25% of the total cost.
How Much Funding Is Available?
Clubs can typically apply for between £1,000 and £15,000 per application, providing an opportunity to deliver projects that can make a meaningful difference to the sustainability and resilience of cricket facilities.
Who Can Apply?
The fund is open to all ECB-affiliated cricket clubs in England and Wales, making it a valuable opportunity for clubs across Berkshire to explore potential improvements to their grounds and facilities.
How to Apply
Before starting an application, clubs are encouraged to download and carefully read the Tackling Climate Change Fund 2026 – Guidance Notes for Cricket Clubs and the Tackling Climate Change Toolkit.
Clubs wishing to apply should register through the ECB Information Management System (IMS).

The Fund is open now and closes on the 30th November. (This is a tight window so please act asap if interested).

All projects must be completed and the grant claimed by the 31st January 2027.
Berkshire Cricket encourages affiliated clubs to consider whether the fund could support projects that will help make their facilities more sustainable, reduce energy and water usage, and build greater resilience against the effects of climate change.
