2027 Knight Stokes Cup

Berkshire State Schools Invited to Enter 2027 Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup

Berkshire state secondary schools are being encouraged to enter the 2027 Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup – a new national T20 hardball competition providing schools with the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage at Lord’s.

The inaugural Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup Final took place at Lord’s in September, with Altrincham Grammar School and Chelmsford County High School becoming the first champions of the competition.

Now, entries are open for the 2027 competition, with Berkshire state secondary schools encouraged to get involved.

The competition offers separate boys’ and girls’ Under-15 competitions, giving pupils the opportunity to represent their school in competitive T20 hardball cricket and potentially progress from local county competition through regional and national knockout rounds to a Final at Lord’s.

The competition is open to all state secondary schools, whether they already have an established cricket programme or are new to delivering hardball cricket for boys and/or girls.

It provides an opportunity for schools to give more young people the chance to play competitive cricket with their friends, while potentially opening the door to a pathway that could see pupils competing at some of the most prestigious cricket grounds in the country.

The competition is run by MCC and the MCC Foundation and is named after two of England’s greatest state-educated cricketers.

The winners will lift the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup, with the champions also having their names added to a new Honours Board in the Writing Room in the Lord’s Pavilion.
