Berkshire Women’s 1st XI Set for Thrilling Season Finale Against Buckinghamshire
Berkshire Women’s 1st XI will bring their 2026 season to a close on Sunday 30 August when they welcome local rivals Buckinghamshire Women to Finchampstead Cricket Club, with the final game of the season carrying plenty of significance.
The 11am start will see Berkshire looking to finish an outstanding season on a high. Having already secured a top-two finish in the competition, Berkshire head into the final fixture knowing that victory could yet deliver another piece of silverware.
A bonus-point win for Berkshire, coupled with Devon dropping points away at third-placed Staffordshire, would see Berkshire crowned 50-over champions, adding the title to the T20 trophy secured earlier this season and completing a memorable league double.
Standing in their way are Buckinghamshire, who will provide a strong test on home soil as Berkshire look to finish their campaign with one final performance in front of their supporters.
Sunday will also be a landmark occasion for Freya Johnson, who is set to reach a significant milestone by making her 100th appearance for Berkshire. If selected, Freya will become just the third woman in Berkshire history to reach 100 appearances for the county — a remarkable achievement and fitting recognition of her contribution to Berkshire cricket.
With silverware still on the line and a landmark moment to celebrate, there is plenty to look forward to at Finchampstead on Sunday.
