Success at Regional Street Finals

June 3, 2025

During May half- term, Berkshire Cricket hosted two Chance to Shine Street regional qualifiers. A total of 14 teams from four counties competed across the two days, with the U12s event running on the Thursday and the U15s on the Friday as teams from Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Bucks and Berkshire all came together aiming for a place at Nottingham’s national finals day later in the year in the indoor tapeball competition.

The U12s competition was won by Slough, beating Oxford by just the three runs in a closely contested final. Both teams will now progress to the national finals.

The Friday event, contested between six teams, saw a combined Bucks team take the trophy as they saw off Slough in a showpiece final following a tense ‘league phase’ that saw three separate teams all win four out of their five fixtures.

The two days of non-stop cricket were well-spirited and enjoyed by everyone, players, scorers, umpires and coaches alike, as a good level of cricket was played out at Herschel Grammar School in Slough.

The two finalists at both age groups both now have an exciting trip to Nottingham in the summer where they’ll play against other regional winners and runners-up from across the country.
