Welcome Sulhamstead CC Women’s Softball!
We’re delighted to announce that Sulhamstead Cricket Club has launched a brand-new Women’s softball team this season!
With growing numbers and lots of enthusiasm, the team has been building momentum through regular training sessions and fantastic team spirit.
Throughout May, Michelle, the Women & Girls Development Officer, has been a regular presence at the club, working closely with the players on the ground each week. The support has helped structure training sessions and especially when guiding the team to grow in confidence, skills, and most importantly, a love for the game.
They’re welcoming new players of all abilities who are curious to give cricket a try in a relaxed and friendly environment. They’re also keen to organise friendlies with other local teams so if you’re interested, do get in touch.

A Historic First for Littlewick Green Cricket Club!
May 18th, marked a truly historic occasion for Littlewick Green Cricket Club, as they hosted their first-ever ladies’ match against Bradfield CC. Their Manager, Mark Dries describes the day as ‘an incredible milestone in our club’s long history dating all the way back to 1820. Quite remarkable that it’s taken over 200 years, but what a fantastic moment it was!’
Mark, who, after taking over the youth section at the end of last year, proposed integrating ladies’ cricket under the club’s structure. The move created a natural progression for older girls and made perfect sense from a training and development perspective, given the shared coaching needs across the groups.
Last year, Michelle, the Women & Girls Development Officer, was on the ground at Littlewick Green CC to help set up and structure their training sessions. With a solid foundation, the ladies’ team is now in the league and playing regular, competitive matches.
