Berkshire Over 50s Cricket Teams Seek New Players Ahead of Winter Programme

Active cricketers aged 50 and over are being encouraged to step forward as the Berkshire 50+ County Cricket squads begin preparations for the 2026 season.

The Berkshire senior county sides run competitive teams at 50+, 60+, and 70+ level, representing the county against neighbouring opposition, with the opportunity to progress through to a national knockout competition to crown the Champion County.

Following a successful recruitment drive earlier this season that saw 10–12 new players join the programme, the organisation is now looking to welcome even more cricketers into the fold as Winter Nets get underway.

Weekly Winter Nets run on Sundays in Maidenhead, from 9:30am to 11:00am, and are open to both existing squad members and prospective new players.

Simon Foster from the Berkshire 50+ sides said:

“There is a huge amount of competitive cricket available for players in their 50s, 60s and 70s. It’s a fantastic way to continue playing the game at a high standard, represent your county, and enjoy the social side of cricket. We were delighted to welcome a number of new players following our Autumn publicity and are keen to hear from more cricketers across Berkshire.”

Players must either live in Berkshire or play their club cricket within the county.
