Ramadan Tea & Tapeball Event Brings Community Together in Slough

Community members across Berkshire are invited to take part in a unique celebration of sport and spirituality at the upcoming Ramadan Tea & Tape Ball with Berkshire Cricket event, hosted at the Singh Sabha Sports Centre in Slough.
Organised in partnership with Berkshire Cricket, this special initiative blends the Spirit of Cricket with the Spirit of Ramadan, offering an inclusive and welcoming space for the local community to connect through sport — and enjoy free chai together.
The event will take place across two dedicated evenings:
-
6 March 2026 – Women and Girls Only
-
13 March 2026 – Youth and Young Adults
-
Time: 9:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Tape ball cricket — a fast-paced, accessible format of the game — ensures that players of all abilities can join in, regardless of experience. True to the values of Ramadan, the event focuses on unity, generosity, and community spirit. Importantly, it is open to people of all faiths, reinforcing the inclusive ethos behind the initiative
Organiser Munir Umer said:
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, community, and togetherness. By bringing cricket into that space, we’re creating an opportunity for people to build friendships, stay active, and celebrate shared values. And of course, everyone can enjoy a cup of chai after the session.”
The Ramadan Tea & Tape Ball event highlights the growing commitment within Berkshire to broaden participation in cricket and ensure the sport reflects the diversity of the communities it serves.
Community members interested in taking part are encouraged to register early, as spaces are expected to fill quickly.
