Berkshire Men’s 1st XI hit the road this weekend as they travel to face Hertfordshire at Hitchin Cricket Club, looking to build momentum with a strong all-round performance.
With a balanced squad combining experience and depth, Berkshire will be aiming to impose themselves early, particularly in what is often a competitive fixture between the two counties. Hitchin CC typically offers a good surface for cricket, so expect both batters and bowlers to have a say depending on how well each side adapts on the day.
Captain and all rounder Rishton will lead the side, with the likes of Connell and Lewis providing fire works at the top, while Isbell and Dunnett add further strength through the middle order. All-rounder Woods fresh off a century last week will look to continue his fine form with both bat and ball. The powerful Salter gives Berkshire further fire power and Macewen takes the gloves behind the stumps after an excellent performance against Wiltshire on Sunday.
The bowling attack is shaping up to be a real strength for Berkshire, with Rishton, Greatwood,Akhtar and Daniel all looking to continue their impressive starts to the season. Offering a strong mix of pace, control and variation, the quartet could prove decisive in key moments at Hitchin.
