Berkshire Cricket Marks 10-Day Countdown to ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
Berkshire Cricket continued its countdown to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 this evening by hosting a successful Chance to Shine Street Takeover at the S&E Girls Street Project in Slough, marking 10 days to go until the start of the global tournament.
The event brought together young people from across the local community for an evening of street cricket, music, skills challenges and World Cup-themed activities. Designed to provide a fun and accessible introduction to cricket, the takeover celebrated the growth of the women’s game while inspiring the next generation of players and fans.

The enthusiasm and energy shown throughout the evening reflected the excitement building ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, which begins next week in England. As part of Berkshire Cricket’s wider World Cup celebrations, the Street Takeover highlighted the power of cricket to bring communities together and create opportunities for women and girls to get involved in the sport.
The countdown continues this Sunday, 7 June, with Berkshire Cricket’s flagship Women’s Softball Cricket World Cup at Crowthorne & Crown Wood Cricket Club, marking just five days to go until the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup gets underway.
Now in its third year, the tournament will bring together teams representing all 12 nations competing in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. More than just a cricket competition, the day celebrates friendship, cultural diversity and community spirit, with teams sharing food, traditions and experiences from their home countries alongside a full afternoon of softball cricket.
Spectators are warmly invited to attend and enjoy:

The event begins with team registration from 12:30pm, followed by a group warm-up led by featuring Anna Desborough at 1:00pm. Matches will take place from 1:30pm to 4:00pm before the day concludes with a World Cup carnival celebration from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
After marking 10 days to go in Slough this evening, Berkshire Cricket is looking forward to welcoming players, families, friends and supporters on Sunday to celebrate five days to go until the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026with a unique day of cricket, culture and community.
