Women’s 1st XI Head to Shropshire

Women’s 1^st XI return to action with a trip to Shrewsbury School to face newly promoted Shropshire in 50 over action

Following a two-week break in first team action the Women’s 1^st XI will head to Shrewsbury School to take on newly promoted Shropshire. The side will be looking to return to winning ways following an opening round defeat to Devon. Despite the defeat there was still a lot of positive that the side will be looking to build on this week. Shropshire are yet to get their 50 over campaign underway this year having still been in T20 action over the last few weekends.

Izzy Storrar returns to captain the side having missed the last fixture having been selected to represent Gloucestershire in Tier 2. Izzy has since gone on to make 4 appearances in Tier 2 the last being against some familiar faces in the Sussex lineup. One of those being Shristi Patil who struck a quickfire 38* to secure a Sussex win. Shristi will come in to make her 1^st appearance for her home county this season having been representing England U19, Vipers Academy and Sussex in the early part of the summer. Shristi will not only strengthen the batting line up but also provides another option with the ball having made excellent progress with her spin over the winter.

                  Other additions to the side include, young wrist spinner Immi Storrar who returns to the side having consistently performed in club cricket with bat & ball over the last month. Yasmin Daswani also returns to the side having been away with her national side in Hong Kong over the last couple of weeks competing in the Asian Cricket Council Women’s Premier Cup. Yasmin finished as the competitions 2^nd leading run scorer and saw her side secure qualification for the 2026 Asia Cup later this year. Left Arm seamer, Emily Wilson also returns to the side who last time out in Tier 3 action for us took 5/10.
