Theale & Tilehurst won the toss and chose to bowl first, immediately putting Kidmore on the back foot. Jaden Viljoen made a fast start, striking twice in the very first over. With spin coming from the other end, pressure mounted quickly, and Kidmore found themselves reeling at 14 for 3.
A resilient innings from Josh Finch steadied the visitors, but his fightback was cut short when he was run out. Wickets continued to tumble regularly from the opposite end, preventing Kidmore from building any meaningful partnerships. Theale were briefly reduced to ten men when Ijaz suffered a painful injury while bravely attempting to stop a fierce return drive, forcing him to head to A&E. Despite that setback, Theale’s bowlers kept their focus and dismissed Kidmore for just 93 runs.
In reply, Theale got off to a flying start thanks to Tom and Faisal’s aggressive batting. Although Kidmore managed to claim three wickets, the runs kept flowing steadily. With plenty of overs in hand, Theale completed their chase comfortably, sealing victory with 5.5 overs to spare and 7 wickets in hand.
Massive thank you to Sulhamstead CC for getting the fixture on and specifically Kieth Briggs club chair who ran the post match proceedings.
