Slough & Thames Fusion Take Girls Blast Crowns

September 16, 2025

It’s been a fantastic season for the Girls T20 Blast League, with teams across all age groups showing great commitment, development, and passion for the game. From our U11s stepping up to hardball cricket for the first time, to our U19s continuing to grow and some even representing at county level, it’s been a pleasure to watch so many girls enjoying their cricket and progressing through the ranks. We had a brilliant day of cricket this past Sunday, with both the U11 and U15 Girls T20 Blast finals held at Slough Cricket Club. Both matches were between Thames Fusion and Slough CC, and featured strong performances, excellent camaraderie, and plenty of talent on display.

U11 Finals – Thames Fusion vs Slough CC – UNDER 11 SCORECARD – THAMES FUSION CHAMPIONS

Thames Fusion batted first and posted a competitive 133/3 from 20 overs, with solid contributions from A Twade, E Dennis, and M Hancock. The bowling from Slough was shared around with wickets taken by D Ukwattage, C Gowrishankar, and A Kabilshaw. In reply, Slough got off to a tough start after a couple of early wickets from Y Akula. L Gulati helped to rebuild the innings, but despite a good effort, Slough fell just short. Thames Fusion won by 9 runs in a closely fought contest.

U15 Final – Slough CC vs Thames Fusion – UNDER 15 SCORECARD – SLOUGH CC CHAMPIONS

Thames Fusion won the toss and elected to bowl first. They kept things tight early on, but Tanvi Ravikumar and Twinkle Prakash batted well for Slough, keeping the scoreboard ticking and helping their side reach 166/5 from 20 overs. Wickets for Thames Fusion came from Laanya Rupasinha 2-26 in 4 overs. Martha Wilson, and Srishaa Ganagabalan took 1 each as well. Thames Fusion’s chase started shakily with an early run-out. While Laanya, Srishaa, and Amber worked hard to steady things, they ultimately came up short, finishing 39 runs behind. A solid win for the Slough U15 Tigers.

A big thank you to Nitesh and all the volunteers at Slough CC for hosting the finals and supporting a great day of cricket. Special thanks also to the grounds crew, who prepared three pitches under challenging conditions due to unpredictable weather, it made the day possible and safe for all.

Well played to all the teams involved across the league this season. It’s been brilliant to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and development. Best of luck to all the players in your future cricket journeys, keep enjoying the game!

We now look ahead to the U13 and U19 finals, taking place on Sunday 21st September, between Falkland CC and Slough CC. Best of luck to all teams competing.
