🌟 Staff Spotlight: Michelle Jeyarajah – Women & Girls Development Officer
We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Michelle Jeyarajah, Berkshire Cricket’s Women and Girls Development Officer! Since joining the team on 25 March 2024, Michelle has been at the heart of growing female participation in cricket across the county.
About Her Role:
Michelle organises girls-only school programs, community sessions, and festivals, works with local clubs to develop sustainable women’s and girls’ sections, supports coaches and volunteers, and helps talented players navigate the county talent pathway. She also promotes the game through partnerships, events, and communications—making cricket accessible and fun for everyone.
What She Loves Most:
“Meeting new people and inspiring women and girls to take part in the sport in whatever way they can!”
Off the Field:
Michelle plays cricket at Maidenhead and Bray CC and enjoys hitting the gym. Her sporting hero is Mahela Jayawardene, admired for his classy batting and charitable work.
Vision for Cricket:
Michelle wants to see men’s and women’s cricket valued equally, with skill and dedication celebrated regardless of gender.
Fun Fact:
She loves karaoke—though your ears may not survive! Her motto? “Live, Laugh, Love Cricket!”
