A new free ECB online course has been launched to support people new to cricket scoring, providing the knowledge and confidence needed to get started with no prior experience required.
Designed for those interested in scoring junior softball cricket or hardball matches, the course covers the role of the scorer, recognising umpire signals, paper and electronic scoring methods, ending games correctly, and safeguarding responsibilities.
The flexible online course can be completed in one session or in short, bite-sized modules to suit individual schedules. On successful completion, participants receive a certificate and are offered free membership of the Association of Cricket Officials.
The course is available now and is open to anyone interested in becoming a cricket scorer.
