Berkshire Dominate Wiltshire to Lift Marlborough Cup

April 20, 2026

Berkshire produced an outstanding all-round display to defeat Wiltshire by 159 runs in the Marlborough Cup fixture at Westbury Cricket Club on Sunday, April 19.

Batting first after Wiltshire elected to field, Berkshire posted an imposing 333 for 8 from their 50 overs, a total built on strong contributions throughout the order and excellent tempo across all phases of the innings. Euan Woods with 121 off 97 balls was in scintillating form and was wonderful to watch as he went through the gears dominating the Wiltshire attack.

The innings was characterised by a solid platform at the top, followed by aggressive stroke play through the middle overs and a powerful finish that took the game away from Wiltshire. Several Berkshire batters made meaningful contributions, ensuring there was no let-up in scoring pressure.

In reply, Wiltshire were unable to cope with Berkshire’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 174 in 31.4 overs, handing Berkshire a comprehensive victory.

The fielding and energy in the field was a joy to watch. Standout performances with the ball were young debutants Nilesh Bhandari with 4-14 and Ibby  Zafar with 1-34. Notable mention must also go to the 4 catches Andrew Macewen took as wicket keeper.

Berkshire now travel away to Hertfordshire next Sunday for the start of their 50 over campaign
