Berkshire Finals Completed in the Knight-Stokes Cup

The Berkshire finals of the Knight-Stokes Cup 2026 took place with schools competing for the county titles in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions. The Under-15 hardball competition, launched by the MCC and MCC Foundation in partnership with Barclays, provides schools with the opportunity to compete in a structured national competition.

The competition gives schools across the country the chance to compete against each other, with county winners progressing to the next stage and the opportunity to compete in the National Finals at Lord’s Cricket Ground in September.

Boys’ Final: Reading School Claim the Berkshire Title

The boys’ final saw Langley Grammar School take on Reading School in a contest showcasing the standard of school cricket across Berkshire.

Langley Grammar School batted first but were bowled out for 96 runs. Reading School then produced a controlled and confident run chase, reaching the target without losing a wicket.

Reading finished on 97 without loss in just 9 overs, securing victory and becoming the Berkshire boys’ champions of the Knight-Stokes Cup.

Reading will now progress to the next stage of the competition, where they will compete for a place in the National Finals at Lord’s in September.

Girls’ Final: Herschel Grammar School Take the Title

The girls’ final was contested between Herschel Grammar School and Park House School.

Herschel Grammar School, playing in green, posted a strong total of 148 runs. Park House School, wearing blue, responded with a competitive chase but ultimately finished 6 runs short of the target.

Herschel’s performance secured them the Berkshire girls’ Knight-Stokes Cup title. They will now progress to the next stage of the competition, with the National Finals at Lord’s in September the next target.

Next Steps for the Berkshire Winners

The Berkshire finals provided an opportunity for schools to compete in a county-level competition and demonstrate the quality of cricket being played across the region.
