Applications and Nominations Now Open for Berkshire Cricket’s 2026/27 Talent Pathway
Berkshire Cricket is delighted to launch applications and nominations for its 2026/27 Talent Pathway, offering aspiring young cricketers from across the county the opportunity to begin or continue their representative cricket journey.
Designed to identify, develop and inspire talented players, the Berkshire Cricket Talent Pathway provides high-quality coaching, player development and competitive opportunities for boys and girls at every stage of their progression. Whether players are taking their first steps into the county pathway or aiming to represent Berkshire at County Age Group level, there are a range of programmes available to support their development.
Boys Autumn Development Programme (Years 4–7)
The popular Boys Autumn Development Programme returns this autumn with an expanded delivery model, making it even easier for young players from across Berkshire to access high-quality coaching.
Open to boys in Years 4 to 7, this 10-week programme provides an opportunity to develop core cricket skills in a fun, challenging and supportive environment under the guidance of Berkshire Cricket’s experienced pathway coaches.
Following feedback from parents and clubs, Development Hubs will once again operate across three locations:
- West Berkshire – Elstree School (Sundays)
- Central Berkshire – The Piggott School (Saturdays)
- Slough – Langley Academy (Saturdays)
Unlike the invitation-only winter performance programme, the Autumn Development Programme is open to all. Players do not need to be nominated by their club and do not have to be existing club members to register.
The programme offers an excellent introduction to the Berkshire Talent Pathway while also providing Berkshire coaches with the opportunity to identify players who may be ready to progress into future county programmes.

Boys U13 Autumn Development Programme
New for the 2026/27 pathway is the dedicated Boys U13 Autumn Development Programme, designed specifically for players entering the U13 age group.
The programme bridges the gap between open-access development cricket and the County Age Group pathway, helping players prepare for the increased demands of representative cricket through high-quality coaching and individual player development.
Sessions will focus on developing technical, tactical, physical and mental skills while providing another opportunity for Berkshire coaches to identify players with the potential to progress into the county performance pathway.

Boys U14–U18 Talent Pathway Nominations
Nominations are also now open for the Boys U14–U18 Talent Pathway.
Berkshire Cricket is inviting clubs, schools and members of the wider cricket network to nominate players who demonstrate the ability, attitude and potential to thrive within a county performance environment.
The Talent Pathway provides players with high-quality coaching, competitive match play and individual development opportunities, supporting their progression through Berkshire’s County Age Group programme and beyond.
Players who believe they have the potential to compete at county level are encouraged to speak with their coaches about the nomination process and ensure nominations are submitted before the published deadlines.

Girls Talent Pathway
Berkshire Cricket continues its commitment to growing the women’s and girls’ game through a comprehensive Girls Talent Pathway, creating opportunities for talented players from U13 through to U18.
The pathway offers two levels of opportunity:
- County Age Group (Tier 1) for players performing at the highest level.
- District Cricket (Tier 2) to support emerging players and provide a clear route into county cricket.
The programme has been designed to ensure talented players have multiple opportunities to enter and progress through the pathway, recognising that every player’s development journey is unique.
Players who consistently perform for their clubs or schools, demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to improving their game are encouraged to get involved.
