August Talent Pathway Update

Women & Girls Pathway

July was an outstanding month for Berkshire Women’s and Girls cricket, with 34 matches played across the U13, U14, U16 and U18 age groups, showcasing the strength and depth of our player pathway.

A standout day came on 21 July at The Oratory School, where county age group cricket took centre stage across three pitches simultaneously. Our U14s reached the National 40-Over Quarter Final, narrowly missing out in a thrilling contest, while our U13s hosted a Vipers Festival, delivering impressive performances against Dorset, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

Our pathway continues to produce players ready for senior cricket. In Berkshire Women’s 1st XI victories this month:

Naaz Asif Iqbal (15) scored 56 and 34, alongside five wickets
Immi Storrar (16) claimed five wickets across two matches

Success also extends beyond the pathway. Four Berkshire alumni reached the Women’s T20 Blast Finals Day with their Tier 1 counties:

Poppy Tulloch (Hampshire)
Ava Lee (Hampshire)
Mia Rogers (Durham)
Charley Phillips (The Blaze)

In addition, Mia Rogers earned a wildcard selection for The Hundred, underlining the calibre of talent developed through Berkshire Cricket.

Boys & Men’s Pathway

July delivered a number of significant achievements across the boys’ and men’s game:

Berkshire Men won the National Counties 50-Over Trophy
Kiaan Gulati (Slough CC) represented Berkshire at the prestigious U15 Bunbury Festival, despite being an U14 player
Men’s T20 Captain Johnny Connell signed for Somerset in the Metro Bank One Day Cup
Berkshire’s U18 T20 side progressed to the National Quarter Finals
Berkshire coaches and players supported training programmes with The Hundred’s Southern Brave
37 matches played across U13 to Men’s teams
12 dedicated days of U10-U12 cricket, supporting the next generation of players

Together, these achievements demonstrate Berkshire Cricket’s commitment to developing talent, delivering competitive success and creating opportunities from grassroots participation through to the professional game.

Individual Performances

A number of Berkshire players delivered outstanding individual performances throughout the month.

Girls

Izzy Storrar (GU18): Currently the leading run scorer in both the U18 50-over and T20 competitions, including a superb 91 against Oxfordshire
Srishaa Ganagabalan (GU16): 101 vs Oxfordshire
Rosie Mills (GU14): 92 in the National 40-Over Quarter Final vs Surrey
Tanvi Ravikumar (GU18): Playing up an age group and recorded remarkable figures of 5/10 vs Gloucestershire
Habiba Arslan (GU18): Playing two years above her age group and claimed 5/18 vs Oxfordshire

Boys

Rishya Rawal (BU18): 138 vs Norfolk U18s
Connor Lamsdale (BU18): 6/20 vs Norfolk U18s
Aryan Vynatheya (BU18): 5/25 vs Buckinghamshire U18s

Girls

U18 Girls – 50 Over Competition
- Finished as group winners with a record of 7 wins and 1 loss
- Qualified for the knockout stages with a Last 16 fixture scheduled for 14 August
U18 Girls – T20 Competition
- Currently unbeaten, having won their opening four matches
- Sitting second in the table with games in hand on the group leaders
U14 Girls – National 40 Over Competition
- Reached the Quarter Final stage
- Scored 253/7 against Surrey, with Surrey eventually chasing the target with one over remaining
- Berkshire were the only National County side to reach the quarter final stage
