Sport Together Inclusivity Festival

As has become tradition during every school holiday, the latest Sport Together Berkshire Festival of Inclusivity took place last Thursday at Cantley Park in Wokingham.

Sport Together Berkshire brings together a range of community groups and sports clubs, all working towards a shared goal of breaking down barriers and creating more opportunities for people to get involved in physical activity.

The Festival of Inclusivity offers the perfect opportunity for people with disabilities to discover the wide range of inclusive sports and activities available to them, meet local clubs and organisations, and, most importantly, try something new in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The latest edition of the festival saw Berkshire Cricket join Reading FC Community Trust, Hunter Community Outreach, South Berkshire Hockey Club, Reading Rockets Basketball and many others to deliver a fun day of inclusive sport.

Commenting on the event, our Disability Officer Chris said:

“We love being part of the Festival of Inclusivity. It’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves and willing to try something new. We had great fun practicing our throwing and demonstrating our amazing batting skills. Cricket can be a game for anyone, and these events play a big part in helping us to show that off.”

Everyone who attended the festival went away with a goodie bag containing information about the different opportunities available to enjoy inclusive cricket within their local community.

The next Festival of Inclusivity is set to take place in December, giving Berkshire Cricket another fantastic opportunity to showcase its inclusive cricket offer.
