Climate Change and Cricket: A Practical Evening for Clubs
Climate change is already affecting the way we play cricket — from hotter summers and water availability to extreme weather disrupting fixtures and damaging grounds and facilities.
But cricket clubs can also be part of the solution.
Berkshire Cricket is hosting an evening focused on climate change, sustainability and the future resilience of cricket clubs, bringing together experts and clubs to share practical ideas, advice and experiences.
The evening will provide an opportunity to:
- Learn more about how climate change is affecting cricket and your club.
- Discover practical and affordable ways to reduce your club’s environmental impact.
- Share ideas and experiences with other local cricket clubs.
- Find out about opportunities to make your club more sustainable and resilient.
- Ask questions and hear from organisations working across cricket, grounds management, sustainability and emergency planning.
There will be representation from BASIS, the ECB, Grounds Management Association, Indigrow and the National Emergency Briefing Steering Group, among others.
Whether your club is just starting to think about sustainability or is already taking action, everyone is welcome.
