Safeguarding and Welfare Fund – Supporting Safer Clubs
We are pleased to share that our friends at Get Berkshire Active have launched the Safeguarding and Welfare Fund, designed to help sports clubs and physical activity providers across Berkshire strengthen their safeguarding practices and welfare support.
This fund offers up to £500 per club to support a wide range of training and development opportunities. Whether you are looking to upskill your coaching team or committee, refresh your safeguarding policies, or bring in expert support, this fund is here to help you create safer, more inclusive environments for everyone involved.
What can the funding be used for?
Funding can be used for:
- UK Coaching safeguarding courses
- Sport-specific safeguarding and welfare training
- First aid certification
- NSPCC training packages
- Consultant support for policy development
- Marketing and communication of welfare policies
- Equipment that supports welfare and safeguarding practices
Who can apply?
They welcome applications from all clubs and groups delivering sport or physical activity in Berkshire. Priority may be given to clubs affiliated with National Governing Bodies (NGBs), or those working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults.
