Meet The Team – Tom Jackson

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Tom Jackson – Women’s Talent Pathway Lead

Meet Tom Jackson, Berkshire Cricket’s Women’s Talent Pathway Lead, who has been part of the organisation since September 2021. Tom plays a key role in developing the next generation of female cricketers across the county.

About His Role

Tom leads the Women & Girls Talent Pathway, with a primary focus on the Girls County Age Group programme.
Alongside this, he is the Head Coach of the Berkshire Women’s 1st XI, competing in Tier 3, supporting players to perform, progress, and prepare for the next stage of their cricketing journey.

What He Loves Most

Building meaningful rapport with players and supporting them throughout their development — helping them prepare for the next level while watching their confidence, skills, and ambition grow.

His Sporting Life

Tom plays cricket for Odiham & Greywell Cricket Club as a wicketkeeper-batter.
Away from cricket, he’s a passionate Liverpool FC supporter and enjoys playing golf, particularly on days when he manages to keep the ball in bounds!

Sporting Inspiration

Steven Gerrard — a true game changer who lifted not only his own performance, but also those around him.

Vision for Cricket

Tom would like to see cricket move away from being influenced by decisions made in the 1800s around First Class status, allowing the modern game to evolve more freely.

Fun Fact

Tom is related to the most successful manager in Liverpool FC history.

Favourite Saying

At the moment, the players Tom works with would probably say his go-to phrase is:
“G2G (Go to Ground)”.

Berkshire Cricket is proud to have Tom leading the women’s talent pathway, developing confident, ambitious players and strengthening the future of the women’s game.
