Berkshire Pathway Cricketers Making Their Mark
It has been another fantastic summer for cricketers who began their journeys within the Berkshire pathway, with several players continuing to progress into First Class counties and beyond.
James Isbell, who was part of our pathway from U10 through to U14 before joining Middlesex Academy, represented England U19s in fixtures against both India and Ireland this summer—an outstanding achievement that reflects his continued hard work and development.
At the ECB Super 4s, Oscar Moore—now part of Gloucestershire’s Academy—proudly represented the Midlands. Meanwhile, Tom Wellings and Ibrahim Zafar showcased their talents for the South West. Joining them, Abdullah Iqbal also featured for the South West at the Super 4s and earned selection for the Young Lions Invitational XI to face India U19s. All three players are currently involved in Hampshire’s pathway, demonstrating the strength of connections between Berkshire and neighbouring counties in helping players fulfil their potential.
There was also great success on the women’s side. Poppy Tulloch joined Shristi at the festival as part of the U19s, and this summer marked her first as a professional cricketer with Hampshire Women. Before making the step into the professional game, Poppy developed through Berkshire’s pathway from U10s right through to U18s—a brilliant example of progression from grassroots to the professional stage.
These achievements highlight the quality of players being developed through the Berkshire pathway and the exciting opportunities that await them as they continue to represent First Class counties, regional sides, and even England at youth international level. We are incredibly proud of all our pathway players and look forward to following their journeys in the years ahead.
